IN MAINE. CDC OFFICIALS SAY 256 PEOPLE SO FAR HAVE RECOVERED. A RESIDENT AT THE MAINE VETERANS’ HOME FACILITY IN SCARBOROUGH– HAS DIED FROM CORONAVIRUS. THE MAINE D-H-H- S ALSO CONFIRMED THAT AS OF TODAY– 6 STAFF MEMBERS AND 3 RESIDENTS AT THE FACILITY HAVE TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID-19. THE RESIDENTS WHO TESTED POSITIVE WERE ALL IN THE SAME WING OF THE FACILITY– AND ARE BEING CARED FOR THERE. THE OTHER RESIDENTS AND STAFF ARE NOW BEING TESTED– AND THE MAINE C-D- C HAS SENT AN ADDITIONAL SUPPLY OF PERSON

The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention on Saturday reported an increase in cases of coronavirus at the Maine Veterans’ Homes facility in Scarborough.Maine CDC officials said as of Saturday, six staff members and three residents have tested positive. One of the residents who tested positive has died, officials said.The other residents who tested positive reside in the same wing of the facility and are being cared for there. Other residents and staff are being tested for coronavirus, officials said.The Maine CDC said it was been working with the veterans’ home and elevated protective measures have been in place since the first confirmed case.An additional supply of personal protective equipment is being provided to the facility, on top of what was sent to it in March, officials said.
