Move over pancakes and waffles, this kid-friendly vegan parfait is a perfect way to tart your weekend mornings! It’s made with dairy-free yogurt, fresh fruit, and homemade granola + chia jam!
I wish I could take total credit for this kid-friendly vegan parfait but it was my daughter who begged to make one after watching Butterbeans Cafe. There was an episode where they had real kids test out a recipe they made on the show and my then 3 year old thought parfaits looked so fun to make. If you haven’t seen that show before, this dietitian mom highly recommends!
Not only did we make the recipe using homemade granola and chia jam, but we also made a little video too! Check it out!
I feel like parfaits used to be really popular when I was growing up. I’m not quite certain what happened where I don’t hear about them that often but I wonder if they lost their luster when people realized how much sugar was typically in one. Between the jam, the sugary yogurts and granola, these “healthy” breakfasts would often have more sugar than a donut. But parfaits are awesome and can easily be made without so much sugar. And they are super fun for kids too!
My recipe for my kid-friendly vegan parfait has a few mini recipes included in it. One is for my chia jam and one for my peanut butter + chocolate chip granola. Here they are below!

Parfaits would be a great food to have at a kids party. You could set up a little bar with various toppings and fruits, and have the kids design their own. I’m thinking blueberries, raspberries, different types of chopped nuts and granolas and, if it’s more like a dessert bar, you could even add some syrups like caramel or chocolate. Just saying π
